Aroon Purie

An alumnus of the London School of Economics and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales), Aroon has served on the Board of many prestigious institutions in India and abroad. He was Chairman of FIPP (The International Federation of the Periodical Press) from 2009 to 2011 and was the first Asian to be given this honor. Aroon is responsible for the strategic direction of the company. He started his career in 1970 at Thomson Press as Production Controller and still continues to be its guiding force.
As Editor-in-Chief & founding Chairman of The India Today Group as well as Chairman & Managing Director, TV Today Network Limited, he sets the journalistic style for India’s most respected and pioneering media conglomerate. The Group has more than 24 magazines including a bouquet of leading international titles. Its flagship newsweekly, India Today (English) is a dominating market leader with 80 lakh readers, followed at second slot with its own Hindi sibling India Today Hindi with a total readership of 72 lakhs. The Business magazine from the group Business Today, the no.1 in Business space makes it to the Top 10 Magazines and so does the globally adored Reader’s Digest Brand managed by the illustrious group
Apart from the magazine titles, Mr. Purie also spearheads multiple news media platforms - the four 24-hour news channels including the undisputed and unchallenged Hindi news channel Aajtak, a daily newspaper and strong assets in the digital space. Through its multiple media brands and platforms, the India Today Group reaches more than 300 million people every month.
A true pioneer, Aroon has been instrumental in changing the face of journalism in India and was awarded the Padma Bhushan – amongst India’s highest civilian honours – by the President of India in 2001. In 2015 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had nominated Aroon and the India Today Group as a Clean India Champion to further the cause and to promote the vision of ‘Swachh Bharat’.

Mr. Ankoor Purie is the Managing Director of Thomson Press (India) Ltd. Thomson Press is a member of the India Today Group which has varied interests in magazine publishing (India Today, Reader's Digest, etc.), broadcasting (Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, Tez, etc.), music, etc. Thomson Press is acknowledged as the country's largest commercial printing company. Besides being a member of the board, he oversees manufacturing at all units of Thomson Press. For the last few years he has been spearheading the manufacturing, quality, systems and technology up gradation of the company.
Mr. Purie is also actively involved in driving group strategy and leads the groups' recent foray into the Educational and Digital Media Sector.
Mr. Purie completed his schooling from Modern School, New Delhi and went to complete his Bachelors Degree in Print Management from the London College of Printing.

Cushrow Jassawala has a Post-Graduation in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur. He has worked 23 years with the Tata Group in the White Goods business, and a decade with Thomson Press.
As Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer, Thomson Press, he heads the Commercial Print business comprising of Offset & Digital printing, with 5 manufacturing units. He is responsible for strategy, building organizational capabilities across the value chain, domestic & export sales.
He is an evangelist in promoting the “Theory of Constraints” an operational strategy pioneered by Eliyahu Goldratt and has made ‘Reliability’ as a Decisive Competitive Edge for Thomson Press.
His goal is to make Thomson Press into a Values based organization, firmly embedded in delivering Customer Delight, through continuous improvement as a way of life.
Thomson Press received the Visionary Award under the Value Enhancer Theme, for its efforts in “Becoming the World’s Most Reliable Printer” from Frost and Sullivan for the Economic Times- India Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
Anil Mehra

After graduating as B.Com (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant & is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of England & Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India.
He stated his career with Thomson Press, Printing arm of the India Today Group, and Retired recently as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the India Today Group, a Multimedia Group with over 47 years of association and continues as an Advisor to the India Today Group.
He was Instrumental in creating various new generation businesses, spanning across Multimedia, Education, Finance, ecommerce and other business verticals.
As a Professional his expertise lies in Financial Management, Tax Planning, Legal & Corporate Affairs and Corporate Structuring.
He is a Governor/Trustee of leading Educational institutions & Director in companies.
He has served as a Member, General Committee Co-Chairman Membership committee and Treasurer during 11-12, 12-13 of the Delhi Golf Club.
He has served as Past President of Institute of Internal Auditors (Florida) Delhi Chapter, and currently is the President of Association of UK Chartered Accountants in, India
Recently, he was privileged to be included in the Book “Building Strong Economies” launched by ICAEW in December 2017 as one of the achievers in India amongst members of ICAEW.
He is also a keen Golf player.
